“Palazzo del Capitanio”, also known as “Palazzo di Cansignorio” o “Palazzo del Podestà”, is one of the best building in the square “Piazza dei Signori” in Verona. The construction of the building, with three large towers at the corners, was decided by Cansignorio and finished, probably, in 1363.
Surveys on structures and withdrawal of samples of steel bars, flat jack tests, tests with videoscope and covermeter, horizontal coring on c.a. and masonry, sonic and ultrasonic tests, verification of the tie rods, humidity measurement of mortars with carbide hygrometer and tests with penetration hammer and resistograph on wooden elements were carried out.
