To verify the presence of brick elements potentially subject to break and fall down, we proceeded executing some assays for the determination of the size of the elements, thermographic investigations to detect the warping and any infiltrations, manual and acoustic analysis.
The “sfondellamento” is the detachment and subsequent fall of the lower folders of the lightening blocks inserted in composite slabs.
The phenomenon does not involve, generally, a loss of stability of the slab or a significant reduction of its load-bearing capacity; but it can have very serious consequences for the safety of the people present in the rooms below that can be invested in the fall of significant portions of material.
Videoendoscopic investigations, tests by pacometer and surveys with the thermal imager were carried out too.
