The church of “Santa Maria Lacrimosa degli Alemanni” in Bologna has a cracks pattern in the vaults. During works for the seismic improvement of the church the situation could get worse. For this reason a system of monitoring was realized by displacement transducers for the control of the major cracks and by strain gauges for the voltage control in steel rods.
